Removable cartridge filters are soaked in a bio cleaner solution, 4 gallons water/2 teaspoons, for a period of time (30 to 60 mins) and rinsed off. For DE grids, double the amount of bio cleaner and let soak for 30 minutes to an hour. The Ahh-Some Pool & Hot Tub Filter Bio Cleaner is the most efficient when used to clean sand filters; just pour a 2 gallon water/2 teaspoon mixture into the skimmer while backwashing the filter and then put the filter on rinse mode.
